Dominique Turner is a originally from Orange County in southern California. She took her first dance class at 4 years old—she hated it and complained it was too fast. She didn’t take another dance class until the age of seven and hasn’t stopped loving it since. Dominique has trained, performed, and competed in studios in Orange County for 8 years until joining her high school’s nationally ranked competitive dance team, where she earned the title of co-caption. After graduating high school in 2012 and focusing on her major at SFSU, she found her way back to dance and began taking dance classes at San Francisco State University in 2016.
She has participated and performed in multiple showcases and was also member of University Dance Theater at SFSU. Dominique has recently graduated with a bachelors in Africana Studies and minor in Dance and aspires to combine her passions for her community, traveling, and art to inspire young girls around the world. She is currently working on a piece with Sarah Berges Dance Company based in Oakland, CA.
