Kaycee grew up in San Jose, California and started dancing at two years old. She spent most of her childhood in dance studios – as a shy kid, over the years she fell more and more in love with dance and the confidence and creative outlet it gave her outside of school. She went on to perform and compete with the Fancy Dancers in Milpitas, California in her teenage years, and was also a varsity songleader each year she attended Milpitas High School. She has a background in jazz, modern, lyrical, contemporary, and ballet – but by far, her specialty is and always has been tap.

After high school, Kaycee took a break from dancing to pursue her career as a graphic designer, graduating with a B.A. in Design Studies from San José State University in 2009. After working in the creative field for over 10 years, she still found herself missing dance and the role it played in shaping her life.

She started tapping at Montage as a student, and joined the Montage Contemporary Company in 2018.

She continues to perform with the company and the studio today. She’s excited to be teaching tap on Tuesday nights at Montage, where she’ll bring a mix of modern music and choreography and traditional steps straight out of the 1920’s. More than anything, she strives to create an environment for students to learn and improve their tap skills while laughing and having a great time.
