-
Registration and tuition fees are at Youth Program rates.
-
Students and parents are subject to the Youth Program policies and the responsibilities therein.
-
If the dancer turns 18 years old while enrolled in any Adult classes, he/she is still subject to Youth Program policies and rates until the end of that dance season.
Tuition and Payment Policies
-
Tuition rates are based on a per-month basis regardless of the number weeks within a particular month. This includes June where there may only be one or two classes.
-
June tuition must be paid in full. June tuition helps pay for the showcase, which is why we don't have additional performing fees outside of student costumes.
-
Monthly tuition must be paid by the 1st of the month.
-
After the 10th of the month, your account will be considered late and a $25 late fee will be applied.
-
Dancers will not be allowed to participate in class until tuition is paid.
-
Tuition is non-refundable. There are no refunds, exchanges, or credits for missed classes.
-
Payment can be made with MasterCard and Visa credit and debit cards.
-
A $30 service charge will be applied for returned checks.

Class Policies
Age Range
Our "age range" is defined as your child's age when the dance year starts in August, not necessarily when they join. For example, if your dancer becomes 6 years old in January, they would still be in the "ages 3-5" range, as they were 5 years old when the dance year started in August.
If the teachers feel your dancer is ready and mature enough to be in the next “age range”, then they may join an older age range. This option would be considered a level up, and both the current and potential teacher need to approve that the dancer is ready. This will be a rare occurrence and it's more appropriate for a dancer to level up instead of move age ranges.
Drop Off and Pickup Policies by Age
-
Children ages 2 - 6 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when arriving and leaving class.
-
Children ages 7 - 9 are recommended to be accompanied by a parent or guardian when leaving class. The default is to have the child wait inside if their parent or guardian is late to pick them up.
-
Children ages 10+ will be released after class.
If a parent or guardian is 10 minutes late to pick up their child, a $15 fee will be charged to their account plus $1 per minute thereafter.
Dress Code by Type of Class
Please have your child dressed and ready to start class on time.
Long hair must be pulled back into a ponytail or bun for all classes.
-
Pre-K Ballet (ages 3-5): Preferred attire is leotard and tights. Ballet shoes necessary.
-
Ballet (ages 6+): Black leotard and skin-tone tights. Ballet shoes. Hair in bun.
-
Tap: Fitted top and bottoms (yoga type pants or shorts). Tap shoes.
-
Hip Hop: Loose fitted top and bottoms to allow for freedom of movement. Tennis shoes.
-
Jazz: Fitted top and bottoms (yoga type pants or shorts). Jazz shoes.
-
Lyrical/Contemporary: Fitted top and bottoms (yoga type pants or shorts). Bare feet or jazz, ballet, or lyrical shoes.
-
Creative Movement: Comfortable clothing and tennis or dance shoes.
Late Arrivals
-
All classes start with warm-up techniques to avoid injury and muscle soreness. Students arriving more than 15 minutes late may be asked to limit their participation for their physical safety and the class as a whole. (This will be done in a gentle and non-shaming way, so your child feels loved and appreciated.)
-
As days get closer to the in-house and end-of-year recital, prompt arrival is very important. We want your child/children to have the necessary time for rehearsals so they feel confident and excited about performing.
-
Arriving late to class denies your child the benefit of full class participation and interaction with other students and takes time away from other students while the instructor prepares to include your child.
Absences, Make-Up Classes, and Dropped Classes
-
One makeup class can be made per month, in a class that is the age range of the missed class and at the correct level for the student.
-
Makeup classes must be scheduled after your child's missed class.
-
The makeup class must be taken within 4 weeks of the missed class. Makeup classes will not be permitted 4 weeks before studio showcase or any time thereafter. This benefits the children who are already in the class as well as your child.
-
The dancer doing the makeup class must be currently enrolled in our program at the time of the makeup class.
-
Please notify the studio if you are unable to attend a scheduled make-up class. If your child does not attend a scheduled make-up class without prior notification, he or she will be unable to reschedule a make-up class.
-
All requests to drop a class/classes must be submitted 7 days BEFORE the 1st of the month. Please note, if notification is not received 7 days before the 1st of the month, you will be billed on the 1st and become responsible for payment of that month’s non-refundable tuition. You may email a drop notification to info@MontageDanceProductions.com. Only email us from your email provider. Emailing through our website is not an acceptable way to drop your classes. Any changes to your account need to be sent in email format.
-
If your child misses a disruptive amount of classes, participation in the June Showcase will be at the discretion of the class instructor.
Staff Conduct
-
Montage’s foremost concern is for the safety and well-being of your child. Our staff is carefully selected to provide excellent dance instruction and nurturing of your child’s self-esteem. Please contact the Studio Staff immediately at info@MontageDanceProductions.com or 408-499-8180 if there are any concerns.
Student Conduct
-
If your child is having difficulty adjusting to the class environment or curriculum, we will work with you and your child to create an environment that is safe and joyful.
-
In rare cases, where disruptive and/or destructive behavior persists, your child may be asked to leave Montage Dance Studio permanently.
Observation/Photography of Classes
-
Only instructors, students, office personnel, and special guests are allowed inside the dance area while classes are taking place.
-
Children, both yours or the other students, can be easily distracted or feel self-conscious with parents watching. In addition, they can become upset or excitable and cause injury to themselves and/or others.
-
Photography and videography of classes are not allowed for same safety concerns as above.
